Full Circle

In the beginning, a canvas.

To any casual observer it is blank.

Think of the idiom: "A blank canvas!"

Spoken eagerly, with excitement for what is to come.

But for the artist -- for me -- it is not blank.

Rather it is covered with uncertainty, questions, self doubt.

Will it be right? Will it be good enough?

Am I good enough?

In the middle, a journey.

Challenges and victories.

Successes and failures.

Frustration and joy.

Until...

The end.

A canvas, no longer blank.

A work of art, varnished, framed, wired. Complete.

Except, once again, we come full circle to

Uncertainty.

Questions.

What next? Will it be right?

Will I be good enough?
